HR or recruiter.?? whats the difference.. ??

Standing at the cross road, of making a decision. Whether to take up an extension of my internship and wait for something good or to let it go completely and try out something different made me wonder about the HR policies of Italian companies. I have always believed a good company takes care of its employees and makes sure that the employees are more focused on the work they do rather than other personal issues like pay, healthcare benefit etc.

Italian company do have a loads of old legacy. One of them being how they treat their employees. I really wonder if they pay any attention to HR at all.. ? Or HR for them is just another word for recruitment.

Its really surprising to see how little they have done to take care of employees. Even in so called developing countries like India, companies have HR policies to take care not only of the employees but also their families. In the company that I use to work before, there was a gym for the employees, which meant I didn't have to leave my office early to go to the gym. There was babysitting for the children of the employees, which usually use to be located near by to the office and parents could work in office without worrying about the young ones. As they could pay them a quick visit if need araised. This are just a few trivial example.

This might be my birds eye view of the Italian companies, buts its been true so far at least for me, from what I have seen during my short stay in Italy.
