UPA Govt hikes the fuel price again. With the opposition party posing a nation wide protest over the fuel price hike, I wonder..if its a blessing in disguise.. ?? Why.. ? In Bangalore (3rd most populated in India) alone every month about 3 hundred thousand vehicle hit the road. I'm pretty sure the numbers in other major metros (i.e Delhi, Bombay..(oooppsss.. Mumbai), Madras ..( oops.. Chennai..), Calcutta (ooops.. Kolkata) ) the number should be either similar or higher..
We, people of India , always blame the govt for not doing enough in terms of infrastructure... I remember the complain of not having wider roads.. (On a 4 lane highway between Bangalore and Mysore.. I took 2 hrs to cover about 20Km.. due to traffic jam.. ) Now is wider road actually the problem..??
In India, rich don't care about price hike. One would argue about aam admi(poor)... as a matter of fact aam admi in India are so strong that they can never be stopped from doing.. what they wants to do.. They will get to their destination by asking lift or sitting on top of the bus or even on the truck.. The only people to be affected would be the middle class... the same people who fail to take action.. who are more like the islands in their own world.. and who believe that blaming the govt is their birth right.. even though they consider a off day during election is other holiday for a city getaway.. ;) i.e never cast their vote..
The positive effect of price hike, I think, will be less people taking their vehicle out, more people will now consider car pooling.. hence less traffic.. and traffic jams...
ps: I'm not in favor of any party or painting a bad picture of my country.. but as my professor says.. economist doesn't have a country.. and I believe.. when you understand that.. you see things much more clearly..
oh yeah.. Bangalore is also called as Bengaluru.. ;)

HR or recruiter.?? whats the difference.. ??
Standing at the cross road, of making a decision. Whether to take up an extension of my internship and wait for something good or to let it go completely and try out something different made me wonder about the HR policies of Italian companies. I have always believed a good company takes care of its employees and makes sure that the employees are more focused on the work they do rather than other personal issues like pay, healthcare benefit etc.
Italian company do have a loads of old legacy. One of them being how they treat their employees. I really wonder if they pay any attention to HR at all.. ? Or HR for them is just another word for recruitment.
Its really surprising to see how little they have done to take care of employees. Even in so called developing countries like India, companies have HR policies to take care not only of the employees but also their families. In the company that I use to work before, there was a gym for the employees, which meant I didn't have to leave my office early to go to the gym. There was babysitting for the children of the employees, which usually use to be located near by to the office and parents could work in office without worrying about the young ones. As they could pay them a quick visit if need araised. This are just a few trivial example.
This might be my birds eye view of the Italian companies, buts its been true so far at least for me, from what I have seen during my short stay in Italy.
