On May 1, having nothing else to do...I decide to see the May Day parade in Milan. I had heard of it a lot from my apartment mates.. Mara told me that she would be joining me.. she had been to her parents place. However when she got back to the apartment she realised that she had left her keys at home.. So she had to drive back to get the keys.
She gave me the direction to the place that I had to get to... Thanks to the map from Roland. I reached the tram stop and when I looked around I though, I was on the sets of apocalypse. With people dressed up so weird and their nose and ears pierced with different things. I reached the piazza maggio.. Actually I didn't know where to get off. I just followed the people in the tram.
On reaching the place, I saw Vans and tempos modified to hold massive speakers and with DJ playing music on truck back. I had seen parades of Dashara and carnival in Netherlands, but this was different. You had the different trucks playing different music, like one playing reggae the other playing house... etc... and then you had people following the truck which played their fav. music.
I walked for a while trying to take snaps of the moment.. But after a while it got a bit boring. That’s when I sighted an ice-cream store. :-) I’m not an ice-cream fan however this time I could not resist the temptation when I saw people coming out of the store with cone or a cup in hand filled with Ice-Cream.. I went into the stores pulled out my wallet that’s when I realised that I don't speak the alien language. I walked up to the counter and handed the man with excite change so that he could understand, and he did. I took the receipt and went to the guy and here was the actual problem. I wanted a combination of two flavours but then by the time I had told him the first and then deciding on the second flavour, the guy had already made the cone with two big scoops. I didn't complain, I nearly took about 15 min to eat it. I loved it... but after 15 min.. It was like I could not eat another chocolate for anything.. :-)
I walked along with parade again. and on reaching dummo.. I was tired of it.. There was the beautiful cathedral. Having few photos was the only thing on my mind before I head back home... :-)
