There was this article about the Virendra shewag saying he was not worried about slum in the form and he knew he would get back to form. One of the viewer had said harshly that Virender shewag was the most irresponsible person for making such a statement and the whole of India was loosing sleep because of his form.
Dravid make a statement that he has told his players not to worry about the fans act back home and hold media responsible in a way for the trouble when we switch on the TV all you can see is Cricket world cup and he accepts the fact that its part and percales of life and every on has a right to their views and he being a cricketer has to coupe with it. . For that frantic fans writes about Dravid being a hypocrite and talks about the advertisements and money they get.
Gagully plays a fine knock against Bangladesh, another fan talks about his incapability to step up the scoring rate.
Shewag hits a ton, and the fans are not happy. India scores 414 , a world record score in world cup and still the fans are not happy. India beats Bermuda by a world record margin and still the fans are not happy.
This make me wonder, if instead of Gibbs , Shewag or Yuvraj had hit 6- sixes, would that make our Indian fans happy ? I guess not. You might have a weak opponent you will have to score runs. There were many weak team in the world cup and why is that 414 is a record why didn't Aus. didn't ever score that much in a world cup, even they have played many weak teams before.
The day after Pakistan is knocked out of world cup, the coach is found conscienceless and later dies.
let me chalk out the problem i have with people
1) Why can't we enjoy the game rather than acting like a manics and burning posters, destroying players house or throwing stones at it.
I really enjoyed the India- Bangladesh match for all the best reasons.
- Amazing fielding display by the Bangladeshi players.
- The aggression that the bats men showed to Indian bowlers.
- The way they played themselves into the game, the way they paced the innings.
2) When a player in not in good form, we talk about the endorsement that he makes.
Why do we do that ? when he is in good nick we don't bother how many products he endorses and we even pick the product just because certain in form players endorses it. And when he is out of form we talk about the money he makes. Its their life. Let that person endorse or take sponsorships from any company they want to. who are we to ask that. Its like a stranger on the street talking about the your salary. what would you say ? ( sure its gone be "who the F@#$% are you? ")
I guess the list we go on let me cut it here.
If you don't agree with me on the above two points. And try to justify by saying there are representing India I guess I have couple of questions.
1) What about our Indian politicians. when some is caught in scandals. Do we go in front of their house and protest ? Do we throw stones ? do we even question their stand ? or their right to be in the government ? At least the crickets are getting the money for what the contribution to cricket in other words, they earn it. But politicians take the money from the taxes that we pay. and its not even their earning .
2) Recently we had big roar over reservations. Why don't we have reservations in Cricket ? and lets see if we can still stand that ? lets say we want 2 players form this cast or creed to be in the playing 11 aways. How about that ?
All in all, the bottom line is we have out so call 15 best players representing India lets back them rather than talking about if and buts and should not have etc. If they win they make India proud. If they don't, its just a game. Its not that sun won't raise again. Life will still go on. Just enjoy the game.
Oh by the way, I'm also a Fan of cricket. There were days when I use to get up 2 in the morning every day to watch test match and see India loose :-( I use to cry when India would loose a winning game. Would think what if the last batsmen had just stayed for 15 more minutes after which it started raining for 1 whole day ( India lose to west Indies).
Finally I realized that its just a game. India loose or win I don't get anything but for a topic to talk about with friends. :-D Better is to enjoy the different aspect of this funny game called Cricket.
